I recently set up a 300 Pushups Challenge for myself for the month of March. A good friend of mine, CMA444 started a challenge with 100 pushups for March, so I thought....hmmm, maybe I can throw a loop in there for me and try doing 300. Of course, my DH said, eh, you should try 500 and I'm like uhhhh, hold on, I'm sure I can do 500 but let's take baby steps here now. Eventually, I'll move into 500, 1000, maybe even 1500 but I'm starting with 300 only because I know I already get 100 in just 1.5 weeks time with my weekly "Zoo" workout and my Cardio Strike Kickboxing classes.
So for the month of April, yup, already got a challenge ready for next month. It will go from 4/2 - 5/31, so technically, I've got a challenge for 3 months in a row. Starting April 2nd, I will do the Bikram Yoga 60 Day Challenge. When I start this challenge on April 2nd, it'll be 67 days from the day we leave to officially celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and will be on our way to Germany. Today is actually our 20th anniversary, but we will be celebrating it in June flying to Germany. This 60 day challenge should put me where I'd like to see myself with yoga and with my health in general. I'm hoping I can withstand doing yoga for 60 days consecutively and straight through. If I can do 60 days straight of Bikram, I can do anything....right???? It's ONLY 60 days right??? Right???? I will continue my cardio strike kickboxing and maybe throw in some running here and there but I'd like to really concentrate on becoming more flexible and healthier mind, body and soul through yoga. The only thing I'll be missing for 2 months is my workout at "The Zoo" (local gym near my office), where I do 2 hrs of a non-stop killer workout with cardio for an hour and crazy weight training for the 2nd hour. I'll get back to it though, once this challenge is over. I know it's going to be a bit trying because I'll have to do my 90 min practice at 4:30-6pm M-F and also incorporate Sunday in the mix. My DH is used to having me home on Fridays (always has been my "rest" day) and Sundays, is "our" day. But I figure, it's okay for 90 minutes of meditation and peace. He'll appreciate me more, I think. LOL!!!
Did I already mention, it's ONLY 60 days??? Eeek!
