Unconditional Love

Tuesday, March 06, 2012

If my friends love me for who I am and my weight has nothing to do with it. If my God loves me the same. If this unconditional love wants what is best for me so that I can have the best life here on earth. Why do I not believe the same for myself? Consistantly, in the last few weeks I have been a member, I have battled my belief that I am not worth a healthy body or my daily needs, including food. This belief must change if I am going to make progress. Pray for me, please. I will pray for you.

You cannot give all of yourself to those you love if you are not a whole person. In order to be a whole person, you need to start loving yourself for who you are NOW. Not who you aspire to be, but all of you now, the good & the bad. Here is a piece of advice that I know works - create an I AM list. This is a list of your best qualities (in one or two words) or those qualities you aspire to have. For example:

I am loving
I am fun
I am healthy
I am energetic
I am beautiful

Etc. Take this list with you everywhere. When you wake up in the morning, take two minutes out of your life to do something for you and read each of these positive affirmations out loud while looking at yourself in the mirror. Read these each three times. Everytime you start to tell yourself something negative, pull out this list again and say these. It works, it really does. Good luck on your journey - you can do whatever you put your mind to. emoticon
