So, I read something on how habits are formed yesterday (which made me want a twix very badly....)
So I decided I need an extra kick to my workouts to give me a feed back look. Feeling and looking better are a great feedback loop, but having to get out of bed to do it and feeling sore after aren't always the greatest incentives. So, I decided I needed something cheap/free and obviously not food to increase the positive feedback loop.

So - I am now going to pay myself to work out...

I get $1 for:
Every Jillian Michel's DVD (full 20 minute work out)
Every mile I run (I really hate running so this will be hard for me)
Every location I bike instead of drive to ($1 for the round trip)
30 minutes on a machine at the gym (it's not an elliptical, but kinda like it)
2 spark people videos is fair since they are mostly short and significantly easier than JM
2 consecutive days for less than 1800 calories
and I lose $1 for every day I go over 2200 calories (weight maintenance at the weight and activity level I want to be)

This money will be put in a 'massage' fund because the only non-food way I really enjoy spoiling myself is massages. I don't buy new clothes or games or whatever - just massages. I LOVE THEM. So hopefully this feedback loop will help me justify the massages I do get, as well as teach me exercise is worth it!

    I wouldn't count one shift as anything - but TWO (okay, so the second shift was only 4 hrs, not a full 8) well, we'll have to look into it :)

    Hmmm, do you have a pedometer that you could wear? You might be able to count it! emoticon I'm on my feet a lot at work too, but I still don't feel as though I have thoroughly worked out even after a rough day at work.

    Now the question is - when I work a double shift as a waitress does it count as running a mile? Because it sure feels like it!
