I tried to tell myself that it wasn't important, but I was wrong. The Diabetes diagnosis was just not real. I didn't have to change my life because I AM healthy. I was wrong. That part of my mind that said "Don't listen to the doctor". "You are doing just fine." I'm glad that I did not listen long to that voice.
I turned to Spark People, and made some small changes every day. Here is what those wmall changes have been:
1. Changing my diet-eliminateing lots of carbs and sweets.
2. Monitoring my glucose 3xs a day.
3. Adding more exercise.
4. Learning something new every day on Type 2 Diabetes.
In just 2 months, I have lost 11 pounds and am keeping my gloucose numbers down 90% of the time. I've still got more changes to make, but I'm heading in the right direction.
Listening to the voice of change was the best decision that I made. I started walking this path alond, but Spark People brought an army of people to walk with me.
