I've had a rough year so far. I hurt my back around Christmas and a large part of January I wasn't able to do the things I had been doing fitness wise. Then in February I developed high blood pressure and got started on medication. That was a bummer, especially since I had made such great changes in my life and always had perfectly normal BP when I ate crap, weighed 50 lbs more and rarely exercised. After 2+ weeks on the med, I'm finally getting good BP readings again. Today was 104/68 :-)
I had been scared to do more than walk when I was getting readings in the upper 180's/120's. My gym membership just sat. Now I feel ready to get back in the game. I went to the gym last night and was there for 2 hours. It felt great!
I have my first half marathon in less than 2 weeks! Yikes...am I ever far behind in training with being basically out of commission from part of December til March. My plan was to do walk/run intervals, which I hope to still do, but my time will be drastically slower with not being able to get ready for it like I had planned. I'm not letting it get me down though...I will get through it with my good friend and co-worker by my side and we will cross that finish line one way or another :-) I'm so excited to do this with some friends from my Fabulous Fitness FB team. Hope they don't forget Katina and I since they will likely all finish 1.5-2 hrs before we do, LOL.
