What a weekend! It feels like a bit of a whirlwind.
Saturday, I woke up and went to my morning powerflex class. HOLY COW. Mostly this class is always some kind of torture for me, but it was pretty darn brutal on Saturday. Even the instructor was having a hard time keeping up with herself! hehe. She had us using: barbells (with extra weight!), dumbbells, medicine balls, jump ropes, sliders, mats, steps and lots and lots of running. I thank the lord she didn't break out the bosu, or I might have died hehe. The crazy part? We got about 2/3 through the class, and we were running yet again and all the sudden I hit this second wind or something....it was like I sped up and all the sudden just felt awesome. Like I could keep going forever! The teacher ran up next to me and was like "how are you doing?" and I was just like "great!!". I was able to push 110% the rest of the class, and afterwards, I felt revitalized and great. It was the weirdest thing. I know I got a great workout because my hamstrings and back are still sore today. Its making me excited for boot camp this summer!
So anyways, after class, I had to rush to an appointment in another town and then race home, shower and change and we were off to go visit some friends down near Chicago. I gave up soda for lent, and was starting to get a little tired. We don't have a Starbucks near us, so I made hubby stop so I could get a coffee. I mostly stick to drip coffee or americanos anymore, but I have a weak spot for the iced nonfat carmel macchiato's at Starbucks, so I had one. Hard to believe I used to drink one of those EVERY DAY. It was tasty, but its so hard for me to justify the calories on a beverage. My general rule is to not consume calories by beverage. But, it was a treat :) I ate pretty crappy on saturday, as I had leftover pizza for lunch, then we ordered pizza at my friend's house and I ate too much of it. Sigh.
I swear, all weekend I felt like a bottomless pit! I could have ate my way through anything! It was sooo hard not to snack and keep eating. TOM came, so I tend to get an insatiable hunger around that time. I hate to admit I gave in a bit too much this weekend!
So on Sunday, we decided to venture out for round 2 of furniture shopping and to get a new laptop. We have this tendency to bust the power connections on them. This is our 3rd one in like 5 years! Anyways, we ended up eating at BWW. I ate SO MUCH. It was disgusting. I had like 9 boneless wings and some potato wedges. BLECH! Afterwards, we were at Best Buy getting the computer and I felt soooo sick all the sudden. Just nauseaus and faint. I had to sit down at the checkout and take deep breaths. So, we cut our trip short and came home. Luckily whatever it was passed, and I felt better, but I imagine it had to do with the sheer amount of food I ate at lunch. Sigh.
I'm not sure how its physically possible, but I was actually hungry again around 7pm. I even went so far as to heat up some leftover pizza. But I was so disgusted with myself I threw it away before I ate it and made myself a salad instead. Small victory there I guess, but I shouldn't have even been hungry!
So that was my weekend in a nutshell. Awesome workout followed by awful eating. I'm back on track today though, even though I think I'm having chinese for lunch.
Well, now its all out there, and I can let it go and move on. :) You can't change the past, and you can't predict the future, so you might as well focus and make the best of the present, right?
