Pre-Workout Ramblings

Since my pilates class isn't until 9:30 and I'm up much earlier than I have to be, I'm enjoying my down-time before I leave for the gym. Gives me some time to get organized and motivated.

I took my measurements for the last time between now and April 15. According to the scale in the main bathroom, I weigh 146.6. According to the scale in the other bathroom, I weigh 147.5. I know which number I like more. And for measurements: waist 30, hips 37.5, thigh 24, upper arm, 12, calf 14. Not ideal, but not terrible.

For breakfast, I had apples and peanut butter and, for the first time, actually measured out the serving size as stated on the side of the jar. That was a major wakeup/disappointment. My estimation of 2T was definitely at least 3T or maybe even 4T. My mistake. I wonder which other foods I've completely overestimated the portion sizes of...

Also realized that I was putting about 60 extra calories into each cup of tea I had yesterday to try to get rid of my sore throat. Oops. I never really thought to look at the calorie count of 1t of honey. And to think that I pride myself on drinking my tea black or with lemon (essentially zero calories) to avoid extra calories (I actually don't like the taste of milk or honey in my tea).

Well, it's my the first day of my five-day free trial of a new gym. Here's to hoping that it goes well! Planning on running a mile, some free weights, and then pilates class.

    I think most people are typically very off when guessing portion sizes unless they actually measured it for quite so time.
