HOLY COW! - WHAT POWER! =)

Saturday, March 03, 2012

Today was D-day on my truck to see what the problems were with that... As my friend who was helping me suspected it was the Vacuum hose for sure which was not ventilating properly and was therefore giving bad results. The second problem possibly related was a fuel filter and that was a real "B" to get that thing done. I was real skeptical that all that would make any real differences in the truck but as it turned out when I took it along the usual way I go over to the school and up the hills that were giving it problems all of a sudden I started seeing 50 and no knocking in a 40 mile an hour zone- I toned it down so that we did not set off any flashing lights along the way but I had to make sure it was running right again. Just that change in hoses made such a difference and the fuel filter being changed out. I also topped off the rear tank (aka impulse power) and added in some BG44K. The BG 44K I tell people is like with these old time Steamer Train Engines where they take the sand and put it in the furnace and it actually scours out the flues in the locomotive to get it to function better for the coal they are burning. It is essentially the same thing. My friend told me it really needed to be run on the highway HARD and burn some fuel (I know not a good thing these days) and I decided to do the loop where I go up over Surrey Ridge and come back at Castle Rock but instead decided to do U.S. 85 for the trip back. I could not believe the power. With Surrey Ridge on I-25 You really have to give it some huge power and it really did well with that. Only problem you have to watch out for the state patrol. It needed to be run at around 80-85 for about 2 minutes so I did both and uphill so it really worked the stuff through there. I like BG 44K because I see results with that to clean the fuel injectors whereas when I tried Lucas a couple times I really did not see results- No honest. You spend more on BG products but I think they are worth it and I have seen a difference. The real test will come this summer when the heat come and I am running the A/C and all that to see how the perfomance is. See you on Race Day! :) emoticon Also was chasing a train along 85. It was a beautiful BNSF with a whole bunch of things on it ... Auto Racks, Tank cars, and Grain cars.

And if I don't get much of a chance this week because of the busy week, I hope you have a really good week. I just hope mine goes smooth. That's the best we hope for during the testing.

Glad you got your truck running good again. Want to come fix my son's car? I sure wish we had someone handy with cars in our house, but its just not meant to be. Have a good Sunday.
