I can't believe the last time i made a blog entry was in 2010! So much has happened since then. Although physically I've had some setbacks, some wonderful things have happened in my life, most importantly the birth of our second son. We are still in KY and I'm slowly getting closer to being done with school. The days feel long but the weeks are flying by.
Ever since I hurt my back in June of 2010, I've used it an excuse for gaining all the weight back that I fought so hard to lose. True, it has greatly limited some of my physical pursuits and even daily activities, but I cannot blame an injury for my weight gain. The injury didn't force me to overeat and make poor daily dietary decisions.
In the last few months I've been starting to get discouraged with what's become of me. I'm not as active as I was, my clothes are fitting tighter, and I'm starting to feel hypocritical exhorting my patients to take better care of themselves when I clearly am not. I've decided to go back to what I know has worked for me in the past. I will log my food and make regular blog entries. Keeping track of what I eat is critical for me and although I'm usually the only one reading my blog entries, just the act of putting words down seems to help me.
So here I am, back at the beginning. Vacation is over, and it's time to get back to work.
