tis the season of planning the season

Friday, March 02, 2012

Plantar fasciitis is gone and my running is pain free, (well sort of, running a long time at a fast pace still hurts)

I have just finalized my race season and will be doing less triathlons this year, as much as I enjoy them they are hard to do 3 or 4 in a month, so I am doing 3 sprints and 1 full. As for running I am doing 1 50k, 3 half marathons and 1 full marathon along with a handful of 5k's. It will be less training then normal but I think I will be the better for it and still having fun.

That being said I still need to drop some weight and this is proving to be much harder then I thought, I am cutting my carbs slowly and so the weight is coming off slowly, but I am going to stay patient and maintain a discipline that will produce a leaner and stronger me in 3 months time and not a fast weight loss that proves to be unhealthy and short lived. I am eating 50% of my calories from carbs (more complex carbs and less simple)and 30% from protein and 20% from fat. It is work in progress and I am moving my intake to follow my work outs more closely then in the past. So as my mileage creeps up and the fuel demand follows it, my body should have what it needs and less junk to process.

I am finishing week 5 of P90X2 and recovery week next so yeah for that.
next week should be interesting as my mileage will climb to a 40 mile week.

Sigh. I miss running, sports, throwing. emoticon

But, I don't miss the 110+ pounds. emoticon

Congratulations on your fitness and program. But, remember, it is better to do less, longer, than to do more, "shorter"!

    I like the title! :-)
Do you follow some special nutritional regime, or is this just a rule that you had set for yourself?

I'm amazed by the amount of races you do - at this level even the nomination fees add up... Keep it up!

That's some schedule and you say that's cutting down. Way to go, 50 K sounds insane.
