Week 20 - Time to take it up a Notch

Thursday, March 01, 2012

Here we are half way through week 20 of my lifestyle journey and I have not even posted an update on how things are going! I think I had better get with the program. This week things have been much better than last. Thankfully my family and I are now over what ever bug decided to make our bodies home and we are all feeling much better. There is nothing that can make you fall of the rails as easily as a common cold. I was pleased when I stepped on the scales this morning and I am excited that my first ever run is just 60 days away. Lets take a look at how things are progressing.

As you can see from the above graph I am well ahead of where I was planned to be and that makes me very happy. On average I have dropped 3.24lbs per week. I thought that this weight loss would have slowed a little by now, but the weight loss level has remained fairly stable. However, I am noticing that I now need to work much harder during my workouts to burn as many calories as I was before. During a 30 minute, 10 mile bike ride I used to burn roughly 1300 calories and now during the same ride I only burn 985. I think it is time to take it up a notch! BAM!

Today I am going to start my couch to 5K program. I was hoping that the delayed onset muscle soreness from a recent leg workout would have vanished, but it is still with me. I will just run through it, it is not that bad. As of today I have just 60 days until the race and the C25K program takes 54! I hope that I will be ready in time. I will finish the race though, even if I cannot run all the way.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day.

All the best,

Brett

I have decided not to do the 1/2 and do the 5K instead! So I will see you there! I am trying to convince my hubby to join me, but I don't know if he has time to get ready. We shall see!
