Well, this week has been a challenge. I managed to tweak my knee last Saturday afternoon while changing a vacuum cleaner bag. Go figure. I should have written "damaged my knee playing flag football" or "inline skating" but no. I simply pivoted to walk to the waste basket and in that pivot was the problem.
Years ago, when much younger and insane, I played co-ed softball. During one practice (notice I say practice not game) I managed to pivot and provided a crack that my coach heard all the way at home plate. Torn miniscus and trashed my ACL.
I've had 3 surgeries and thought I was good to go BUT I think the extra weight I've put on really must have stressed my knee. Thus the tweak.
Anyway, it has been a challenge to get my cardio workout done at the level I've set for myself. I've had to re-adjust the way I exercise. No jumping jacks, no high knees, no Walk Fit. I've stuck to callesthenics and my elliptical and although I've only lost 1 lb I have at least LOST! Whew. I was worried.
Today the knee is feeling much better. Ice, initially, then heating pad and elevation this last week. No swelling. I think I'm on the mend.
