February Goals Recap

Time really needs to slow down. Either that or I need to free up some time because February just flew by just like January did. We have been keeping busy with the kids activities and also planning a benefit for my FIL. There just is not enough hours in the day.
February got me revved up again. I found myself testing my limits with my body and trying new things. I also did pretty good on my goals that I set. Here we go.....
My hubby and I were supposed to fit in a date sometime in February and I got a little nervous with all the weekends filled up. But we managed to get this in and I am so glad. I love spending alone time with my hubby!
I had a goal to make it to the gym to do some swimming with the kids. But unfortunately, we didn't make it as often as I hoped. But we did go a few times and now I have my daughter signed up for her spring swimming lessons. She was doing so well with me in the pool and I am glad she is getting over her fear. Hopefully we can hit the pool more now that the sports are lightening up. Plus she will be going weekly come March 19 so extra practice will help her out.
Plank Holds (5 minute hold goal to reach)
I had a plank hold goal to hit 3 minutes and I almost made it but fell a little short. I am going to keep at it though and will eventually hit that 5 minute mark. I found that I need to stay consistent with this to keep the minutes going.
I did my measurements on Feb. 24 and was very happy with the improvement. I lost inches everywhere and even lost body fat in just one month. My trainer mentioned that he was impressed with my success over the month and told me to keep it up. So even though the scale has been a pure stand still for the past 4+ weeks I am making progress in other areas.
Pump it up!
My goal for February was to hit the weight room at least 2-3 times per week and I did just that. This is where I pushed my body to new limits. In February I tried for the first time squatting 115 pounds. I felt so good and so proud of myself that I managed to do it again but upping the weights to 150. I ended the month at 155 and still can't believe that I actually squatted that much. I didn't just do little squats either.... they were nice deep squats. And I had my trainer watch my form. I also went up on the bench press as well hitting 95 pounds.
I love seeing what my body can do and feel so strong afterwards. I plan to keep on continuing to challenge myself because that is where I will see the most gains.
Tabata and Bootcamp Workouts
Tabata and bootcamp were kind of put on hold for the month of February. I found myself doing this class so much that I actually injured my foot from all the jumping. I had a pain that went through my calf muscle all the way down through the side and top of my foot. I went to a few classes here and there in February but nothing like I was doing before by attending classes twice or sometimes three times a week. Instead I made my focus more on the weight room to keep my muscles strong so that I am less prone to injuries.
All in all February was a great month. It had its ups and downs but I made so many gains with my strength training that I can look back and say that I did awesome.
Now onto March goals!
