Will I ever learn?

Thursday, March 01, 2012

I gave up chocolate on Ash Wednesday. I thought I would be easier than coffee. NOT!!! I will confess to the world I had a bite of chocolate ice cream yesterday. Then today I bought GF Chocolate Chex cereal. I got all the way home and slapped my hand to my forehead....WILL I EVER LEARN before Lent is done. I never realized how much I depend and eat chocolate. It is an eye opener for me.

I will not sneak and more bites and I will save my cereal for after Easter.

At least I limped around my supermarket and got gf bread, gf blueberry muffins, and onions for my lunch today.

Gatta put my foot up

Why is it that when we decide to give something up, it is the very thing that we want? I wouldn't beat yourself up over your slip ups. After all, the idea of giving something up for Lent is the struggle we go through when we give it up. The struggle reminds us, in a very small way, of Christ's struggle. I find that there is power in over coming struggle during Lent.

I gave up ALL sweets for lent and I accidently took a bite of a brownie and spit it out in the sink when I realized what I did. I completely forgot. LOL. It happens.
