Davy Jones

Wednesday, February 29, 2012

I grew up watching the Monkees and I was so in love with Davy his poster and Shaun Cassidy where always on my wall.. I will always remember Davy on the Brady Bunch when Marsha gave Davy a kiss on the cheek and he said ( How about one for the flip side) I always thought how lucky can you be?

Today was a sad day to hear of his passing it got me to thinking about how old I am and how time has passed so quickly. I do not have that poster anymore that one of my older cousins had given me but I still see it hanging there on my bedroom wall with that gorgeous smile on his face.

It always saddens me when someone one I grew up listening to passes away , like Joey Ramone , Davy Jones , Johnny Cash and the list goes on and on..

So I send my prayers out to Davy and all those loved ones he left behind and I will end by saying thank you for the good times , the music , and the laughter yourself and the Monkees gave me growing up..

God Bless,
Marybeth

I, too, was a Monkee's fan in my youth and spent every Saturday watching them. His passing (his and many other people from my youth), makes me wonder too where the years have gone.

No time like the present to live life to the fullest!

Thanks for a memory...Davy Jones or David Cassidy? Michael Jackson or Donny Osmond? Jermaine or Tito?

It is really weird I hadn't thought much of him lately but me and my husband were channel surfing on Saturday and we get what they call ME TV and the monkey's was on it seems really crazy. Then to hear he ppassed away a couple of days later is really crazy. He will be missed. I will be praying for his wife and three daughters.

I also grew up with Davy as one of my favorites!! To watch our childhood being chipped away by the passing of these people does make you think about your life!

The Monkees was one of my favorite shows. I feel a little older everytime another piece of my childhood disappears.

I watched the show as well. In fact I met Michael Nesmith back in '65. I love the picture you posted of Davey. He was a cutie, and seemed like a nice person. He also loved Horses. He is singing in Heaven I'm sure. Hugs!
