Gyms should NOT be lined with mirrors

Tuesday, February 28, 2012

It's just mean.

First.... I started the day with the scale finally moving. I hit the 20# mark! Yay! It was a good way to start the day. 20 pounds gone. I've worked my arse off for it!!!

Later, at the gym, I did my 30 minutes on the elliptical, and then hit some machines for strength training. Unfortunately, the women's gym is mostly walled in mirror. Ugh.

As I'm sitting, pushing weights, and thinking about form, I realize that I look REALLY FAT sitting down like that. So much feeling pretty good about myself. emoticon

Anyway.... finished the workout. Finished my work day. Ate some healthy tacos. Now ready for bed... at 5:50 pm. Yep. That was my day.

Hope you had a good one.

emoticon on the first 20 pounds lost, that is great.
Your doing so well and I am proud that your sharing how you feel with us, I never pay attention to my image in the mirrors as when I look in them I us them to see how others look in the reflection and don't even look at myself. This way you can focus on your workout and not your image.
Keep up the good work. Sandy

I'm too chicken to even go into a gym even though a new one went in just a few blocks away. So I think you're doing great!

If only they could make the mirrors show how we're GOING to look if we are successful.

Way to go on the 20 pounds gone. You are beautiful, look at that lovely smile.

I so agree about the mirrors. Even worse, what are they thinking putting walls of mirrors in my locker room? I so do not want to see my naked body reflected in the mirror, never mind a stranger. I so do not care how slim they are. TMI!!!!

Agreed with Mennoly-you ARE doing great!! Twenty lbs is a great milestone; I see you already added the little thingy to your SparkPage--whoo hoo! :-)

I know what you mean about when you sit down in front of those stupid mirrors at the gym, though. I feel like that giant brown blobby guy from Star Wars--can't think of its name right now.

YAY YOU!!
