I know that I will look back and say "it wasn't that difficult, it didn't take that long, and I survived it without too much crying and throwing of fits..." right now this is a comfort to me as I face the last stretch of Berklee (only one and a half semesters left now) and my best friend and band mate's two - three month stay in Toronto.
But this is also true of my most recent return to habits I put in place two months ago. Spark habits. In some ways I am back at square one, rejoicing over an 8 day log in streak. In other ways I know I will not fight the same uphill battle because the proof of success is in the pudding...you can forget how to ride a bike well, but you never need as much time to learn again as you did when you were a novice. I am no novice. I am back at day one and my plan is to log in every single day, to blog most days, to move ten minutes a day and to track one single meal and swim at least one time per week. After a week of getting back on the bike, let's see how many miles I can handle before fatigue kicks in, I bet you anything it's a lot more than I managed that first time around...
