A Reminder During Times of Struggle

Monday, February 27, 2012

Today’s Affirmation: “Today I will look for the gifts in my moments of struggle, and I will be grateful and grow from each and every one of them.”

It is just a fact of life that we almost always have to give up something to get what we truly want. . . this is the meaning of sacrifice. We have to give up time or energy, or resources. We often have to give up something good and hopefully we are giving it up for something better.

When thinking about you beautiful dreams and goals, dear friend, just remember that almost everything worthwhile requires some form of consistent sacrifice. To have a healthy body we must sacrifice eating many things that look yummy… and sacrifice time to exercise and take care of ourselves . . . and the reward is so great!

To have wonderful relationships we must sacrifice time and energy to give of ourselves and the reward is so great!

Please don’t feel down about how difficult things are sometimes. . . sacrifice is hard and sometimes very uncomfortable! Keep your eyes on your goal on your dream, and on the life you want to live . . . and the sacrifice will not feel so heavy, but it will be a joy to think about how you are doing exactly what you want to do – working towards exactly what your heart desires.

It is worth the sacrifice to live the life you want to live.

"Struggle is the food from which change is made, and the best time to make the most of a struggle is when it's right in front of your face.

Now, I know that might sound a bit simplistic. But, too often we're led to believe that struggling is a bad thing, or that we struggle because we're doing something wrong.

I disagree. I look at struggle as an opportunity to grow. True struggle happens when you can sense what is not working for you and you're willing to take the appropriate action to correct the situation. Those who accomplish change are willing to engage the struggle." ~ Danny Dreyer

Yep, right on the nose with this one, my friend. Been struggling this week with clean eating, but when I sacrifice the time to prepare properly, I feel so good as opposed to eating the "old" way. This blog was a good reminder-i love how I feel when I am making change happen!

Yep, yep ... it's all true! I saw a commercial today while I was wandering around the Electronics dept in Walmart that said "There are 1440 minutes in every day. Surely you can find 30 minutes to exercise!". How true that simplistic idea is ... dividing your day into sections of minutes and prioritizing what the most important things in Life are. Good insight, Sharon!
