Question of the day

Monday, February 27, 2012

"I'll never reach my destination....If I never try."

That lyric struck me this morning.

Destination, what is my destination, this is a journey, do I really have a destination??(This will haunt me all day as I work on my 1.5 year plan that I've been challenged to do)

Curious for others views on that lyric.....what you think friends?

Nothing wrong with a sequence of destinations... You've hopped into an RV and are touring the country on your own timetable with many destinations on your journey.

When you've reached one, enjoy it for a while, then set course for the next!

If we reach our destination, we are DONE. FINISHED. So I hope not to reach my destination until I'm about 100. BUT, I have a lot of LITTLE destinations on the way, things that point me on the right way, things that I hope keep me on the path :-)

    Thanks for posting! emoticon

I'll return a quote for you.

"A dream not put into action is simply a hallucination".

I think its about just starting and sometimes the destination becomes clearer. When you started your amazing weight loss journey could you have imagined where you arrived?

Sometimes the journey can create the destination.

I agree that destination is more synonymous with goal. My goals are my current destinations...then I will set new ones. But the lyric is right...you will never get anywhere, reach any destination/goal if you don't at least try. Taking that first step...no matter how hard or scary...makes all the difference in the world. To me life is a journey...of many first steps and many destinations reached...but as always...where one chapter ends the next begins.

I think it is a current destination. Just like we have daily physical destinations that change as our day goes on, this is a current goal/destination. Once we get there, we will start planning for the next destination.

Destination.....means goal for me. I have hourly, daily, weekly, and yearly goals. It is also a state of mind for me....one of completion....

kinda think along the lines that the destination is more temporary like I am going to XYZ city for vacation. it is my destination but not my residence. I will never reach the goal that I have in mind if I never work up the courage to try, it will always be a day dream.

The journey is always on going because that is the sum total of our life...

    just a thought...

seeing as how i view life as a continuum, i think it's possible to have multiple destinations and that they can be fluid. i try to maintain a certain level of flexibility with myself in order to manage the things that life throws me. seems to have worked thus far.

    great question! emoticon

    I have a destination.
Its to live what I was put on this earth to do. When I live my live with the purpose that I know I was put here for, I am walking to my destination. (-:
I know how it feels not to try, it sucks, so I never NOT TRY... I cant even grasp that concept! Do or do not, there is not TRY... I choose to DO (-:

I figured the destination was the end of my life so I'm working on the journey and the sidetrips instead!

For me the journey IS the destination... enjoying it, trying to do more good than harm -- in my own life, in others lives.... LIVING instead of just existing.

"So, I will sail my vessel.....til the river runs dry......."

To me it means we need to keep trying and trying and trying.......

Kinda reminds me of something my Mom used to say, "As long as there is breath, there is hope".

So, today, I will have HOPE!

Hope that I can do what I need to do to reach my goals for the day.

    Thank you for the blog.

    Have a great day!
