Planning is the key!

emoticon Up until now, I have been doing great all week, then the weekend comes. I find it very easy to follow my menu plan all week, but on the weekends, I have been keeping my planner blank, because i don't know what we might be doing. This has been my stumbling block. I have decided to plan my menu for the weekend as well, and if I am not home, I will try to eat as closely as I can to my plan. I'll try this for a couple of weeks and see how that works out. In the meantime, I would love to hear from you about how you handle this kind of situation.

  Hi Dee,

I think you have the situation assessed perfectly. Planning is the key to successful calorie counting. Otherwise, as was mentioned in last night's class, too many additional, unrecorded calories can creep up and alter the daily goal. Remember that you are human, that your weight loss to date has been steady and impressive, and that the human body, even without 'bad' days, exhibits fluctuations on the scale. Your dedication and commitment to yourself has been wholly an inspiration to me and I'd like to see you being gentle with yourself.
