So after the comments and suggestions I got from my last post, I downloaded Dr. Rosedale's book and read it. It looks very doable I started with a breakfast of veggie patties and veggie bacon strips, avocado and coconut oil -- about 30 gms of protein but I didn't have the full feeling of satiation I have with Dr.K's breakfast. So I ate 1.5 eggs with onions, cooked in butter.
I have gained a whopping 2 lbs in the last 5 days. My measurements seem same, I look very puffy and my rings hurt. Water gain? But I have given up snacking -- no snacking in 5 days!!!
I did not eat on protocol yesterday with DS's birthday -- I had cake and Indian food for dinner with naan bread and curry.
Today will serve as my starting point and for the next 3 weeks, I am pledging to be perfect on protocol.
I have to go shopping for Tofu and Black soybeans -- without too much dairy my protein options start to shrink -- Whey shakes don't hold me . So ..on my modified plan, I will have low carb tortillas that have about 9 gms of protein, moderate amounts of shredded cheese, bacon (yes I know - not vegetarian- I am married to a carnivore and developed a taste for bacon), cottage cheese, morning star sausage patties, chicken (I am willing to try), nuts and mung beans.
Started this morning off with a whopping 800 calories and 40 gms of protein.
I am loving it and pray that this thing works!
