Gotta declutter!

Saturday, February 25, 2012

I think when my environment starts to get out of control with clutter, then exercise and eating healthy commitments start to crumble. I was hyperfocused on getting into new habits and quitting smoking, but my house is a wreck as a result. This is not good at all for me in terms of sticking with these new commitments. I think this is where I start to lose focus and give up on new goals.

If I can get my TH back under control and try to keep it that way, for the most part, then I think I can stick with the new lifestyle and goals.

Wish me luck! Oh where, oh where has my motivation gone today?!

Join the club! I've got piles of paper on my desk that need going through. It seems overwhelming, but I know that once I start it really won't take that long to make some progress - the trick is getting started:).

Thanks Everyone! It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who struggles with clutter! I will try some of your suggestions and let you know what's working for me. emoticon

I am so the same way! A clear environment for me helps clear my mind. (And a cluttered one makes my mind scattered!) But allow yourself maybe some "days off," because you really are doing other "work" right now, it takes work to quit smoking and improve other areas of your life! I sometimes say that "not all the work we do can be seen on the surface, because it happens internally." Just be gentle and remember take it one day at a time, and maybe even one room at a time as you de-clutter! enjoy clearing and decorating your space. :) P.S. congratulations on quitting smoking! I know how difficult of a task this is, I am on day 18 w/o smoking! Keep up the good work!

I'm very lazy to dust! As a result my room gets dusty sometimes, but when it gets too dusty, I just bite the bullet and do a major spring clean!

    Peaks and valleys.....
I think if you start the decluttering process you will feel that you are going in the right direction.
Maybe you can use some of the decluttering work towards your fitness minutes (under heavy house cleaning).
Good Luck to you!!! emoticon

I have problems with clutter too. It seems to get out of control before you know it!! I am trying to declutter alittle everyday, but some days I am so tired when I get home that I can't bring myself to do it. Don't let clutter make you give up on your goals. Every goal we can keep will help us reach our prize.
