Another week.

Not much going on this week. DH was sick again with a cough, which again I managed to miss. He is very jealous that neither of us can remember the last time I was sick. I'm not sure if it's my exercise routine or what but I'm glad I've managed to miss the colds he's been bringing home. He started feeling better yesterday but came home with what I think are allergies since the weather here is warmer than normal and everything is in bloom. My eyes have been itchy too if I'm outside too long but otherwise I'm good.

As of Wednesday, I've given up sweets for the next 40 days. It's been hard with the plate of brownies sitting on the counter and cookies in the jar but it's certainly made me realize how often I let myself have a treat. The frequency of said treats make the word a joke. Seriously, they're more of a given or a necessity - hence my decision to stop eating them for the next few weeks. Maybe when I'm done, I can see them again as an occasional treat and less of a daily occurrence. For whatever the reason, giving myself a deadline makes it easier to say no. I haven't cheated at all - although they still look delicious. I wish I had the will power day to day. I'm hoping this will help with that too.

Otherwise, exercise is going good. I did take Wednesday off from weights because I woke up with a very sore back and figured one day more to recover would do me good. In the afternoon, I was feeling much better so took a walk around the block to get some moderate exercise in and some fresh air. I think it was 67 degrees out. Yesterday was even nicer at 74. Let's just say I've been in shorts and sandals the past few days.

    I gave up sweets for 40 days on Wednesday too. Pretty hard to watch my boyfriend eating the Girl Scout cookies! I had to leave mine at the back of my cabinet at work where I won't think about them!

I'm keeping a few stalks of celery cleaned and cut up for times when those urges hit, I can put a little peanut butter or almond butter on it and be satisfied!
