Motivation for this journey

Saturday, February 25, 2012

I read the blog of Jenn245 this week about motivation. I think I have some major work to do in that department. I am always motivated to start out . But then comes the every day life and I kind of forget or more like evade-thinking-about my real goals and reasons for this journey. I slip back into eating stuff I do not really want to eat, don't even like but am just used to snacking on. I think if I could read and talk out loud my goals and reasons multiple times per day that might not happen. This is like having somebody reminding you before you even make a bad choice, why you do not want to make a bad choice. I believe in positive thoughts. And I think the more you think those thoughts, the more important they become, the more they infiltrate your subconscious, the more likely they are bound to 'show up' in a challenging (tempting)moment.
I will make myself a list of goals, reasons to succeed for this lifestyle change. I'll read them and say them loud as often as possible, but definitely every day. The list is my plan for this weekend. Maybe one day I will make a collage with inspirational pictures and quotes, I always wanted to do that.

On another note: does anybody know of a good Challenge I could participate in for the next month or months? Something to stay motivated and maybe accountable for?

Have you looked at the walk/run a 5k challenge? That really helped me zero in on my exercise.
