My Old Levi Blue Jeans

I have an issue with jeans. Old jeans vs new jeans.

The old jeans I have that I have loved for many years have no stretch in them. Levis were Levis - just good on 501's or 512's. You put them on to see if you are losing because they were the true test for me.

Last few years, you can't really buy jeans for women that don't have the give/stretch in them. Tummy panels, stretchy fit. So its hard to judge like with the older styles. They stretch out & get lose in weird ways...belly area especially. The tops get weird & roll, the pooch area stretches so you look pregnant but they still fit. Old jeans did not do that. You got tight & had to take them off or unbutton them. And you said "Wow, I really pigged out & need to get back on track so I can wear these old jeans".

I have put off trying on my OLD jeans. I did not want to be disappointed. I hung a pair on a hanger in my workout area to remind myself I WANT TO WEAR THESE ONES AGAIN.

So this morning I found a different pair in my closet & thought "Nahhh", but tried them on anyway. They fit!!! and I am wearing them today. No huge muffin top or crotch cutting.

This just means that all the pedometer steps that I have done walking in the last month are paying off for me. At least they are starting to. I have been consistent on making sure I get anywhere from 6000-10,000 steps a day before bed. I have learned that in the past I have a lot of days MAYBE gotten 3000-5000 steps & that is an eye opener. I am using dumbbells also while I do my Leslie Sansone or Bob Harper workouts daily also. I am drinking more water. And no beer during the week either. I quit buying ice cream & eating cheddar cheese by the carving slices out of the package. And it is paying off finally.

    Hi Lynn, I want to thank you for being so encouraging to me. WAY TO GO on the "fittin' into 501s", that is way cool. Yes, the pedometer is a great indicator. At work, on Benifits, they are offering Virin HealthMiles website with free pedometers. I got mine 2/13. I recently have been trying to get 7000+ a day for a challenge. The website has been a motivator and has brought me back to Spark. I find myself walking the halls, or in place to try and get those 7000+ before midnight (when I am on 2nd shift). Trying to get the steps at the end of the night makes you realize planning exercise is key. Thanks again for the encouragement! Christina

    That is such a great feeling, good job!! I love working out to Bob Harper too, he motivates me. Good job on the not drinking beer during the week too, I know that's tough, but it's all worth it :) My non stretch jeans give me the evil eye when I look at them in my closet. It's sort of an abandoned look LOL. Anyhow, keep up the great work!!

    It is the hips & saddle bags I think that are slimming a bit. Maybe I should get that Brazilian booty workout. LOL! Been thinking a lot about what YOU said Carla about Strength Training.

    Lynn - YAHOOOOO!!! Love those NSVs!! You have taken baby steps and made some hugs impacts. That is so awesome - so proud of you and psyched for you!!! Woot Woot!!! And I agree with your and Elizzy about the jeans - oh so true - ohhh the pros and the cons of it all. Lucky to have pants that still fit me, but not really the true indicator. You are motivation to the core my friend.

    I agree with you about the jeans...how they fit is a HUGE indicator of how we're doing! My old time fav's (Levi's too) are wearable but TIGHT, especially by the end of the day.

    Thanks for the reminder about the pedomoter...I should get back to wearing mine...I usually DO get in 10,000 steps just in a normal day due to the fact that I AM on my feet for almost the entire school day...walking here and there all over the school.

    I do my pink hand weights often at night...but I should do more.

    This weekend, I'll walk A LOT but it'll be to Happy Hour, then dinner, then back to the condo!
