Get up off of that thang and maybe you'll feel better!!

Friday, February 24, 2012

JB didnt know that song would become my mama's mantra. We had so much space to play outside that she just would not allow us to be lazy. Now, what I say to my bunch when they come to visit is,Hang up that phone and I will feel much better. They will pull out devices and talk/text/browse the web!AS SOON AS THEY SIT DOWN!!I went to visit my oldest dd the other day to talk,She spent the time on the phone with her boyfriend,so I left.My feelings were hurt and she thinks I was being childish??I will not take a call unless we are not talking.I find it rude and disrespectful to text in someone elses company. It says im too busy for you!Maybe im old fashioned.I asked my #3 dd out to lunch and she didnt even hardly talk to me.We went shopping and she bent over her cart and texted....I took her home in a huff and she asked was I mad?Yes,Im mad that all you care about is your phone.Yesterday my youngest dd didnt have 2 classes and I picked her up for lunch. What did she do?Ignored me the whole time!I drove her home and went out by myself and had a better time.I hatched a plan that from now on when they come to see me..I'll pull out my phone and call and text as many people as I can!Just to give them a dose of their own medicine....LOL...Life is too short. When someone you get limited time with comes around,Both of you PUT DOWN YOUR PHONES!!!Enjoy each other as much as possible.xoxoxoxo emoticonSUSAN

Call me old-fashioned, but I think I'd walk away from anyone who did that to me. It's way beyond rude, and I don't care how many people do it. What's the difference between this and whipping out a book to read when you're in someone else's company?

Not to be tolerated... I just wouldn't have patience for that kind of behavior..

    Honey.. you are RIGHT!!!

I actually took my 16 year old to the Doctor - who was talking to her directly - and my DD pulled out her phone because she got a text!!! My eyes got big and round... but to the Doctor's credit, SHE LECTURED HER lol

I was glad she did.. because it came from someone besides Mom.

Stick to your guns... your time with them is precious. Texting/talking on the phone is NOT allowed when you are with them!!

You aren't the rude one. People who don't give their attention to the person they're with are the inconsiderate ones. I have a friend who does that to me all the time. She comes to visit me and spends her time texting. I feel angry, hurt, and neglected. I also think about the times she doesn't answer my calls or texts until later. If she's glued to her phone, I'd think she would always answer or text me right back.

My husband doesn't understand texting at all. He says texting is to quickly tell someone he's running late or giving them information they need to store. He says a 3 minute phone call can say all the things that a it takes 20 minutes to text back and forth about. I'm a texter therefore I disagree. He has a good point though.
