When we think of getting OUT of our "comfort" zone, we often think that we will be doing something that is uncomfortable to us. While that is true, it's also my opinion that giving up something that is comfortable is taking myself out of that "comfort" zone. Make sense?
Getting back to SparkPeople, getting back to healthy choices, walking away from unhealthy foods, and exercising more may not seem like a huge shift or being uncomfortable, but it really is...at least for me.
It's interesting that when I make up my mind to do something, I always end up dodging huge boulders, taking detours, etc. because I get faced with obstacles that try to deter me. Case in point: yesterday, my husband brought home donuts!! And not just any donuts! They were the small, powdered sugar kind...you know...the ones you can eat four of and not even realize you've eaten any at all, except for the powdered sugar all over your shirt!! Yes, I know you know what I'm talking about!! :)
It was hard for me to ignore those donuts that sat on my counter all day long! It was OUT of my "comfort" zone, if you know what I mean! But, I didn't eat the first one I'm proud to say! This morning, I put that bag of donuts out of my sight! "Out of sight, out of mind!"
Guess I need to reevaluate where my comfort "zone" is these days to stay on track and to be successful!
