I gained a half pound this morning and I'm ecstatic. Now that may sound like an oxymoron for someone trying to drop pounds but its not. We have heard time and again that when we are on this road to healthy living, don't let the scale not dropping a week or two derail your efforts. There are other things to take solace in. Are your clothes fitting better? Have people commented that you look like you're losing weight? I have had those compliments and more. Something that I do twice a week because I weight train is to measure my body fat percentage and pounds of fat lost. This week my body fat percentage went down and I lost 1 pound of body fat. What this means is since I gained a half pound total I've also gained 1-1/2 pounds of muscle! That is a good thing. So for all of you training hard and eating right who saw a slight gain, but may not have the instruments to check body fat, if all the other indicators I mentioned above are there, you can be confident that fat is disappearing. Stay positive and committed and the results will show up eventually on that dreaded scale!
