Car troubles, Kidney stones and Migraines

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

What a week it has been!!

My poor dh started having trouble on Saturday night with pain and burning when going to the bathroom. We were sure he had another UTI. We took him to the doctor yesterday...but when they did the urinalysis they said his white cell count wasn't high indicating it was an infection although all his symptoms said that it was a UTI. He did have blood in his urine though. The doctor thinks he might have/might be passing a kidney stone and/or had/have an infection. So, he gave him some pain meds in case its a stone and a antibiotic just in case it really is an infection.

I also had a horrid migraine yesterday. I awoke at 4:30 am to drive my dd to work and could feel it coming on. I took some of my prescription meds but by the time I got back from taking her to work it was worse and I was very nauseous. I tried to get back to sleep but had a very hard time but must have finally fallen asleep because I didn't get up until almost lunch time. So, while at my dh's appointment the doctor noticed how I was feeling. He had his nurse check me in also and had her give me a tordol and a nausea shot. Then I came home and fell asleep for 3 hours.

Monday when my ds was taking our car to go pick up my dd at work he barely got the car backed out of the driveway. Next thing I know he is back inside saying something is wrong. I follow him outside and he tells me that when he puts the car in drive that the spedometer races to 40. I remembered that I had heard a strange noise in the front passenger tire well area earlier that day taking my dd to work. So I go over to look at that side of the car and notice metal balls all over the ground. We both start looking around and sure enough we find more balls in the road and end of the driveway. We also found a broken metal ring. It was our cv joint and it was completely shattered! So, I put the car in neutral and my ds pushed it over to the side of the road in front of our house (but facing the wrong way, sure hoping we don't get a ticket). Luckily my ds also has a car (but it is a two door and a gas hog...not a family car!) so he was still able to go pick up my dd at work.

It seems like things come in 3's for us...so I am really hoping that we can say that this is our 3 and be done!!
