A new day

Well, it's been a long time since I posted. Still trying to find the key, yes, but I remembered that once in the past when I was doing WW, I tried to reduce carbs--the whites and heavies--and had some success. To that end, I have tried this over the past week; my last WI was on Feb 11 until today--we were out of town last weekend. In that 10 days, I lost 1.5 lbs--pretty good for a slow-poke like me. It's more than the usual 1/2 per week that I'm so tired of posting. So, I'm going to stick with it. I think I'm eating too many calories though, so I'm going back to charting meals on SP to see my calorie count vs. carb count.

Today is Ash Wednesday--the start of 40 days of Lent. I'm not depriving myself, but I am going to pledge to avoid sweets--as snacks or as desserts. I did this a couple years ago and it served not only a purpose for Lent of feeling some pain as we relive Christ's journey, but I felt proud that I could manage it and not screw it up. I really pledged myself to monitoring just that one thing and it paid off, emotionally as well as at the scale.

So, that is the plan. My goal is to succeed.

    I was happy for you when I saw the loss that you posted. Excellent! I imagine that your Lent commitment will help with your weight loss goals, too. It's amazing how much the feeling of success can help you toward even more success. I think this will be a great 40 days for you!
