So Lent snuck up on me. I'm not Catholic, I've never "done" Lent before, but I wanted to try it this year, and now it's tomorrow and I don't know what to give up! I am not a deeply religious person, but I thought it would be a good opportunity to for-go one of my vices. Here are my thoughts, and let me know what you think, quick!

1. Cheese. I love cheese. This would be the most difficult for me, because it means I can't have cheese on my sandwiches, no pizza, no lasagna, no quesadillas....

2. White flour/potatoes- I honestly don't eat a LOT of these things, so not sure it's the right thing to give up.

3. Red meat- again, I don't eat a lot of red meat, but I was planning on beef-stuffed peppers later this week. I have to use up my beef.

4. Alcohol. Again, probably not so hard to give up. I drink once or twice a week, tops, and I know alcohol has a ton of calories in it, so it would be good for me :)

So what do you think? You're going to say cheese, aren't you??

    Cheese would be hard for me to give up too, but that's what makes it more rewarding when you successfully give it up for the season. And then you think to yourself, if I had the willpower to give up one of my most favorite things (I assume since it's one of my most favorite things it's other people's as well, haha), then you have the willpower and strength to continue on the journey too!

    I had decided not to participate in this Lent season, but now you're making me reconsider...I already had cheese today though =/

    Well you don't want the beef in your house to be wasted, so not that.

    I'd say cheese if it's a troublesome food for you, but white flower/potatoes if you want to start out on an easier one!

    I am Catholic & I can tell you it isn't easy. Start with your easier category.
