Back on track ...sorta

Monday, February 20, 2012

After resting my back for last 10 days I walked 2 miles outdoors in 25 degree temps today. It felt pretty good and I am icing my back as I write this blog. I know I put on some weight for the first time in 13 months but I hope to be back to even by the end of the month. I hope to increase my distance by .25 mile every day until I am back to my 4 mile/ day routine. Then I will work to get my time down to pre-injury performance (68 min). If all goes well I hope to accomplish that within next 30 days but I will adjust based on how my back holds up.

At my age, the body doesn't bounce back so fast!....lol

Sounds like a sensible plan to build yourself back up. Our road may be full of bumps and even some detours, but the important thing is ending up at the right place.

take care of you!!! back pain is the worst and you don't want to mess around with that! so one day at a time and go slow - you will build back to where you were - know you are in my thoughts! you are such a great inspiration!

Glad that you are back on track.. No need to rush it. Your body will tell you what you can do.

Glad you are mending, even if it is slowly. Ice is excellent for sprains/strains (and very good in G&T!)
I'm sure your determination to be healthy will help you overcome this roadbump on your journey.
best wishes, Sandra
