I will admit that I am the queen of procrastination (not the president as I'd never get around to running for office). I am also excessively good at coming up with excuses for why I'm not doing things that I should be. All of this leads to my current exercise status; I had been going on the occasional walk but not much else. When I was doing very well on my exercise journey i was going to a water fitness class a couple of times a week. I enjoyed it & it was a lot of good exercise (got in some strength training as well). At this point my schedule no longer allows for the class. I responded to this setback by... whining a lot & ignoring strength training. My CB & diet motivator explained to me that this was not the best tactic to take. She recommended that I wake up a little early & squeeze in at least 15 min of Spark strength training exercises. There are several that don't require any equipment other than a piece of floor. These aren't the most hard core exercises but my core at the moment makes pudding look like steel. I've now managed one week of morning strength every other day. I do actually feel some soreness in my muscles (in a good way). I'm considering adding stretches to the other days (not quite yoga ; but I'd like to work in that direction).
Lesson learned? Stop making excuses & make the time to do a little strength training! 15 min less of sleep won't kill you; but it can begin your day in the right mind & body set.
