The Lesson in a Shrub

Monday, February 20, 2012

On my walk the other day I noticed a couple of different shrubs.

The first one above made me think about how people wear a face like the green outside of the shrub, while inside they are a tangled mess.

The second shrub below was almost the exact opposite of the first. This one was well manicured with its trunks/branches trimmed neatly and on display for all to see.

The truth is that I used to look exactly like the first shrub and while I may still look more like that inside, I have been in the process of rooting out much of the excess stuff in my life and I am well on my way to looking more like that second shrub. I have made progress!! That is an awesome thing to see about one's self. There is still lots of room for improvement but...I can change. I have changed. Whooo hoooo!
