Days 20, 21, 22/100 * And a Wedding, and a Vacation in the Near Future

Sunday, February 19, 2012

Still on track with my water and exercise. I'm 22/100 on both.
Kind of shifted focus away from the no TV/WiFi portion on my challenge. No need to inflict unnecessary stress.

My daughter is getting married next Saturday. I have my dress, I have my shoes, I have my hair- and make-up lady booked, I'm in good shape there.
(I never wear make-up, that's why I need a make-up lady :))

I just realized a couple of days ago that this is the first time in forever, that I don't need to stress about losing weight for an event. I'm so there! This is awesome!

Work is definitely my #1 stressor at this time. Last week I refused an assignment outright, 'cause I was so overwhelmed I could not see straight. Not exactly a good career move, but I really need to hang on to my last thread of sanity.

Desperately need to get out of the rat race for a while, so I went ahead and booked a vacation. We're going to Europe middle of next month.
DD & new son in law are taking a Mediterranean cruise and will visit my parents afterwards. Thought it would be great fun to surprise them and meet them there.

DS even wanted to go, which surprised me, but of course I'm glad. Our first stop will be Vienna. I have never been there and always wanted to go. We'll visit a customer and good friend of mine, and they offered to show us around. Should be great fun!

We'll then take the train into Germany straight to my home town. I'm really excited to be able to get out of town for a while.

My back is on the mend. Still a bit tight, but definitely better. I'll be back at the gym next week. But, as I posted in my status just now, today I'm eating chocolate and watching TV - 'cause I can.

More later.

So heading for Germany, how exciting for you to get back to Germany and see your mom. What town is hometown for you?

Where is your hometown? I used to live in Münster und Rheine and miss it very much. Vienna is absolutely lovely. I hope you are able to stop at Hotel Sacher to have an over-priced Sachertorte u. Kaffee).

Wow - congratulations on all the good things you have going on. And of course for not having to worry about the weight loss it huge.

I wish you a wonderful time at your daughter's wedding and a fabulous and safe trip.

Meh, the power of 'no' is a good thing. I don't think you can be expected to say yes to every task thrown at you. If your boss was decent, he would have already known that you were booked.

Sounds like many good times ahead. Enjoy Vienna, I hear the sausages are great.
