Today's walk

Sunday, February 19, 2012

The hubs and I walked three miles around the neighborhood today. The wild cherries and ornamental plums are in bloom here in Northern California. It got blustery and really windy at one point and I wanted to take the shortcut home. Having a walking buddy kept me going. As we rounded the corner a flovk of robins crossed our path, darting among the bushes, hopping along the path, flitting through the tree branches. Cheerful. I was filled with wonder to see them migrating through our community and the intersecting of our paths.
These walks are a great way of catching up with each other, and also embracing whatever comes up on the path. It's not just exercise. It's going out of my small self and connecting with something deeper, in my beloved hubs or in Nature.

Beautiful! There's little more satisfying that connecting with Nature.
Have a wonderful weekend! emoticon

I enjoy neighborhood walks also. It's cold this morning for one even in Georgia. My DH usually walks to this park every morning, but he's on the treadmill.

OMG, it has been SO LONG! I was off spark for over a year...it was ensnaring me...I was sitting at the computer so long...and I looked for you right away but you seemed dormant too. I could NOT believe my eyes this morning when my email said there was a blog from you! I have missed you, my friend! emoticon for SURE! oxoxox
