Crackers Are My Weakness

I have loved crackers since I was a small child, soda crackers with soup, ritze crackers with cottage cheese, wheat thins with anything.
Since my Gastric bypass there are many things I cannot eat like french fries, hamburgers, potato chips and the like but chips seem to just slide down in an amazing way.
Soup is a good meal for me and without the crackers provide vegetables, and starches and protein but they just don't taste as good without the old tried and true saltine.
I have even been known to get up in the night and eat saltines and butter.
Any suggestions?
I know it is a mind over matter thing but it is truly one of my stumbling blocks.

    I agree with NPA4LOSS - getting a smaller size might help. And there are undoubtedly lots of saltine variations - no salt, lo salt (?), maybe whole wheat, and more?

    I'm not a big fan of deprivation - so I try having something less often (like only have potato chips if I'm away from home - don't bring 'em in the house!) or limit myself to once or twice a week or in smaller quantities. Personally, I also am more successful if I give myself a portion, of whatever size, and then put the food completely away. I take my crackers or cookies or whatever and go in another room. Then my laziness can often save me from eating more, 'cuz who wants to repeat all that?? emoticon

    If I have a craving for something I love I have to buy it in a healthy form or mini size or if I am still having a problem I get one I don't like as much as my tried and true. emoticon
