So as I ran 10 miles this morning, I decided that physically it was easier than what I was doing 16 years ago today... Lying in a hospital bed after 6 weeks of bed rest trying to prevent the premature birth of my first child. We bought 6 weeks of time, but couldn't get past 34 weeks pregnancy. So on this day 16 years ago, I had many tubes running in and out of me to keep my body and that precious baby's body alive until he could be born. This day was a day of great anxiety because on the morrow I was going to be put into labor to deliver a baby 6 weeks early.
(As it turned out, my 2nd child came 11 weeks early, and that 6-weeker felt like a cakewalk.)
So this weekend, we celebrate the awesome boy that is my Cameron!! Not only is he a great kid, but I would have never dreamed that a son could be such a close friend to me. He has been my running partner since the beginning (almost a year and a half now). I could not do it without that security blanket. Since the beginning, it has been apparent that he looked just like his daddy but had his mama's personality. (We share the same mp3 player because our taste in music is the same)
Okay, so what are we doing to celebrate? What else can you do for a "Camoflauge-Crazed, Country Boy"... a paintball party! All the nephews, dads, buddies, and a couple of moms...It'll be something!
So say a prayer that no one will be seriously injured.
Really, remember us in your prayers tomorrow. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed. I am so grateful for all the Lord has blessed me with including my sweet, buddy Cameron!!!
and my sparkfriends!!!!
