How Danielle Steele has helped me loose lbs....

Saturday, February 18, 2012

When I was much much much younger, I loved reading romance novels such as Danielle Steele.

Then I grew up and learned that life didn't work out as described in the novels, and my preference switched over to thrillers like John Grisham and Ludlums just to name a few.

When I started my weight loss journey, I wondered what would keep me going back to work out on my stationery bike because sometimes 10 minutes feels like hours (boredom!!).

Anyway, one day I'm working out and browsing through some health magazine, but still kind of bored. It so happened that there were lots of Danielle Steele novels on the bookshelf, left by my sister-in-law, and out of boredom, I grabbed one and started reading it. It was kind of interesting and took my mind off the workout at that moment.

Once I was finished working out that day, I put a bookmark in the novel and left it and didn't continue reading until the following day when I was back on the bike.

Well, since then, I have been reading Danielle Steele novels during my workouts and actually look forward to working out because I decided to only read them while working out. This way, If I really want to know what happened next, I have to get on the bike.

I'll probably be ordering some more used novels on Amazon because I've almost completed my current collection.

I do the same with disposable fantasy novels. Romance isn't my thing, but any light read can make stationary equipment feel less like a root canal. emoticon

You are my kind of people! I used to read on the treadmill and on my exercise bike. It really makes the time pass quickly.
