I complain a lot that the honey is not home at night so that I can get things done but the real sneaky truth is that sometimes I prefer him gone at night. Donít get me wrong I love him more than words, but when he is home at night I can sometimes get lazy. I tell myself that heís home now Iím off duty, he can get the kids to bed; he can make dinner... so I can relax...I mean so I can be lazy. My version of relax is lazy. When heís home I tend to sit down and then not get back up. On goes the TV and Iím a vegetable. Thatís why when heís gone I donít sit down until I know I can do no more and by then it is time for bed. I get in the door; get dinner ready and make lunches at the same time cuz if I donít then they donít get made. Before the boys eat they do their homework, they are pretty efficient with it so they donít need much help. The baby (sheís 3) plays or helps me with the food. . Then we eat (as a family minus daddy). Then I give them a bit of play time while I clean up. Then I get baby girl to bed. Then I get my work out in anywhere from 20 mins -60mins depending on how quickly I get things done. Then I get my 8 year old to bed. Then not long after that my 10 year old goes. By then itís nearly 10, time to get my clothes ready for the morning. Then I sit down catch up with all of you and FB, send a couple of tweets, all the while catching up on a recorded show. Then bed. Usually by midnight. Can you say CRASH? Sleep straight til 6 a.m. and then be out the door by 7 for work at 7:30-4 and then repeat.
So there you have it my day in a nutshell. This is the routine about 80% of the time.
Now there are those days when I get the workout in early, right after work because the boys are at running club. Thatís when I get the me and honey time. We go straight to the gym, get in a 60 minute workout and then pick up the boys.
What do you think.. too busy?? How do you get it in? Would you do things differently if you were in my shoes?
