For the past month or so on Spark People, I've been doing well...sticking with my 5K Running Plan (I'm in week 6) and making healthier eating choices.
I'm incredibly conscious of what I put in my mouth. I'm moving every chance I get. Even on my workout days (I work out in the evenings), I'll choose to walk 2 miles at lunchtime with coworkers because, really, do I need an entire hour to eat lunch?
Still, the numbers on the scale either don't move or they simply go up or down 1 lb. So I'm basically in the same place I started. It's frustrating.
This is not an old scale - I broke down and bought myself a new digital one within the past 6 months, replacing my decade old dial scale.
I'm telling myself that the weight is shifting (my pants are feeling a little looser)and I'm building more muscle mass (I really do feel firmer). I've also raised my calorie allowance based on Spark People's recommendation, as it showed me I've started burning approximately 1000 calories a week (!). I've read that if I don't eat enough, that can keep me from losing weight, and for multiple reasons I'm focused on eating the right amount of the right foods.
My workouts make me feel like a rockstar. Not just physically - I'm feeling more confident and able to take on challenges. So this is not without other rewards. I'm just wondering when I will see results on the scale.
