Actually I'm Eleven Weeks!

Thursday, February 16, 2012

My appointment was really good on Tuesday. Turns out I am actually already 11 weeks pregnant (almost twelve now)!

My due date is now September 4th! It was great to meet my OBGYN and discuss concerns and questions I had.

We couldn't hear the baby's hearbeat because the baby is still too far down. However, the doctor got out this really cool hand held ultrasound equipment and I got to see my baby.

It was honestly the most amazing thing ever! Last time, when I had the dating ultra sound, the baby was just this tiny dot. This time it actually looks like a baby! Head, arms, hands, legs! And the baby was just moving. Waving his/her hands. So sweet.

Although I couldn't hear the heart beat the doctor showed me how I can see the heartbeat in the monitor from the ultrasound. Oh it was amazing. It was a shame my husband couldn't get the time off work. His boss isn't too nice about time off. And my husband wants to save it for the 20 week ultrasound when they can tell us the sex of the baby.

But I am going for blood work and an ultrasound next week to test for any abnormalities. I opted out of doing anything invasive, but agreed to the ultrasound and bloodwork. I am hoping they give me a print out so I can show my husband. It honestly is the most amazing thing I have ever seen!

I still look down at my stomach in shock because I know what's inside and I just can't believe it!

I was really tired on Wednesday so this morning I took it easy and did a yoga workout. It was a nice change.

I don't know why but these past two days I am just so tired! But I know that's to be expected with a baby growing inside!

emoticon Ultrasounds are amazing, when I had my children they never had all these gadgets they have now, so you had no idea what you were carring until you gave birth.

Alright, as a guy I know I can't totally relate, but I remember that first doctor visit with the ultrasound being the most amazing experience. It's truly an awakening and heart melting event. I pray everything continues to go well for you.
