A Very Gratifying Experience

Wednesday, February 15, 2012

Monday was the second Thypin Oltchick Event. It was a huge event. Over 100 people attended. The energy in the room was terrific and I felt very gratified speaking to the attendees.

After the event, as I spoke to people who came up to me they gave me very valuable feedback about my presentation. Some of them are interested in coming to my Image Seminars in March.

This event and the first, were a great gift from G-d. I got to participate in an event that reached a total of over 300 people. I did not have to arrange the space. I didn't even have to prepare a speech--it was all impromptu. The contact list for the organization is many thousands long. I did put it on EventBrite so that my particular contacts would know about it. But I didn't have to.

I tried to tell different stories the second time just to avoid sounding stale. However, I found out that many of those who came the first time came again! What I heard from several people is that my comments reflected my years as a clinician. They were not simply about the clothes that I helped people select.

In any case, I did make several more good contacts. The rep of an elected official was there, the administration of the agency came and I even met a social worker who is considering changing fields.

Now, I continue the all-out effort to grow my business, make my contacts, put out my blogs on the new Spring colors, fashion and makeup trends.

And I have to market my Seminars. I heard from a national organization that I am trying to engage and they said that they would send out a flyer to market my seminars. They also said that they would put the second two seminars on their freshly updated web site--when the complete the freshening process!

Little by little....

We live in a world that honors and expects immediate results and instantaneous gratification at every turn. We are often at a loss to explain to ourselves and others why things don't seem to work out after 15 minutes of minimal effort. It seems that is our status quo.

My day becomes a bit better when I am exposed to people like yourself who put forth a continual and sustained effort to define success in their lives and their careers. I believe, back in the old days, it was called "work ethic."

I receive a significant amount of joy and consider myself grateful and honored to have a front-row seat to your journey.

    Be blessed today.
