My Review on Sparkpeople's 28 Day Boot Camp DVD with Coach Nicole!

My Review on Coach Nicole’s 28 Day boot camp DVD from Sparkpeople.

This is just my opinion of the DVD.

Breakdown of workouts:
Warm-Up ( 6 minutes)
Cardio Burst (12 minutes)
Short Cardio Sculpt (12 minutes)
Tone & Burn (20 minutes)
Total Body Challenge (30 minutes)
Cool Down (4 minutes)
(plus some bonus features)

The video has several sections you can do them all or pick and choose. There is also a 28 day bootcamp selection that you can follow which chooses the sections for you. I liked this feature as it gives you a nice schedule for your workouts and gives a good mix of the various workouts.

I like that the warm up and cool down are in separate videos/sections. In other exercise videos the warm up and cool down are in each section and if you choose to do more than workout you have to FF through that section again. If you choose to follow the 28 day plan the warm up and cool down are conveniently added to that day's workout.

Another plus of the video is the music. I don’t usually care for music in workout videos. The music in this one is low and you could even play your own music in the background.

I think this video is challenging but can be done by beginners. There are modifications and different levels you can follow. Beginners and more advanced exercisers would be challenged in this video.

Each section of the video has a clock that tells you how much longer you have. I liked this feature as it helped to let me know when I could push a little harder when time was almost finished.

Video Breakdown:

Warm-Up ( 6 minutes)
Good Warm up…again I like the warm up separated from the individual workouts

Cardio Burst (12 minutes)
Got my heart pumping. Keeps you moving a lot so the time flies by. It had some dance moves, kickboxing and other aerobic exercise. Nice short workout.

Short Cardio Sculpt (12 minutes)
I liked the modifications in this video. You do need a set of hand weights for this video. I liked this one a lot. Not as many squats in this one and there is beginner and advanced levels you can follow.

Tone & Burn (20 minutes)
Very good workout. This section needs hand weights as well. I can feel that my arms got a good workout.

Total Body Challenge (30 minutes)
I liked it but it does have a lot of squats. There are some kettle bell moves in this too. You will need some hand weights. I also liked there was abdominal/core work too.

Cool Down (4 minutes)
Good Basic Cool down. Again I like that it is separated from the other videos.

All total I would recommend this DVD for those exercising on any level. This is my first experience with one of Coach Nicole's workouts and I really enjoyed the experience. This is great for exercising in the Winter for me as during the warmer days I prefer to do my workouts outdoors. I will continue to use the DVD for strength training throughout the year.

This DVD is available at Target and there is a $3 off coupon available on the site.

I received this DVD for Free from SparkPeople and didn't receive any form of payment for my review.
