I had a great time jog/walking the Firecracker 10k from Chinatown in Los Angeles through Elysian Park and Dodger Stadium today. It was lovely weather, in the mid 50's, cloudy & cool. The elevation to the park we ran through was 800 feet and my bottom is feeling those hills this afternoon. There were beautiful views of downtown Los Angeles and Dodger Stadium.......
The race celebrated the year of the dragon with paper dragons and 100,000 firecrackers!
Paper dragons being carried through the crowds.
My hubby, Fred, me and one of our best friends, Richard
It was Richard's first 5k and my hubby's second. I think they had a great time!
A view of downtown LA......you can see runners on the street.
A view of Los Angeles and Dodger Staduim.
Running through the parking lot at Dodger Stadium!
Taiko (I think) drummers helping us to set the pace.......I think they played for at least three hours. They were there when the 5k runners set out at 8AM and were still there when I came in at almost 10:30. I'll bet they worked as hard as we did!
All in all it was a great way to start the week!
