Not just February, but almost Valentine's Day - which means to say almost half the month of February is over! That's almost 1/10th of the year GONE!
Just after I wrote my last blog, I was visited by the world's worst cough - which soon turned into the world's worst cough-and-cold, and then retreated into just being the world's worst cold.
So there I was, barely able to breathe without hacking up half a lung.
What do you think happened to my Insanity workouts?
Gee. Ya THINK?
So, that's been about 6 weeks of zero exercise. And I am not ready to start Insanity all over from scratch: it will have to wait for another insane moment of commitment.
Anyway, last week I decided I needed to get back in the exercise and healthy eating groove. Yes, I've said that before. But I am doing it, so don't nag. :)
I have been walking a bit (a couple of miles a day) and eating more salads and fruit, less starches.
I don't see any significant changes in my body, but I definitely can tell the difference in attitude and morale: I am woman, hear me ROAR! :)
And today, I had a nice intense workout: 30 minutes of weights followed by an hour of more-intense-than-moderate-car
dio on the treadmill and the elliptical. Thank goodness the building has a mini-gym so I have really no excuse to avoid a good workout: winter may mean cold temperatures outdoors, but hey, it's a GORGEOUS view from the penthouse gym! :)
So, that's about it ... keeping on keeping on, which is really all any of us can do.
And on that note, I really need to get in some groceries so that I can continue to eat healthy this week without needing to grab something quick (and usually unhealthy) from one of the restaurants near work.
