I eat less than my 4 year old

Sunday, February 12, 2012

It's true.

And she doesn't overeat. I eat less than my 6 year old, too. Waaaay less! Neither of them is overweight. They both eat good, healthful food. And plenty of it. They both weigh about 22kg.

I weigh 88kg. Even when I'm healthy weight, I'll be (say) 68kg. Still a good 40kg more than them.

There's definitely something wrong with the world when I have to eat less than a small child.

The other night I looked at my plate and my 20 month old daughter's plate and said to my wife, "I have the same amount of food as she does!"

My wife replied, "No you don't. I gave you two more chicken nuggets than her."

So there.

lol!

I guess that's the difference between being small and growing and gaining weight as opposed to being big and not growing and trying to lose weight. Oi.

Ha! In related news, when sorting laundry in this house, people regularly confuse my t-shirts and underwear with my son's. The shirts aren't too bad - there are a few that are fairly large on him and close-fitting on me, but the underwear doesn't work all that well...

Hi! I guess if we grown-ups were growing - bones and everything, and moving as much as a child does throughout the day, we would need to eat way more than them. Those little ones are working a whole lot!
