My news.

Saturday, February 11, 2012

It has been four weeks now since I left home. The time
has sure flown by. I feel healthier and so happy to be on
the road again after so many years.

I wish I had money and time enough to visit all my wonderful
friends in the US and Canada. Alas, I can only keep in touch via
this wonderful site for which I am grateful.
My son is settled in SF and I feel as though the dynamics of our
relationships has changed forever. I was thinking this day would
never come but it has and I am both sad for me and happy for him.

I came back from visiting a friend near Orlando and have found a
vast change in him. He is more self assured and more mature and sure
of what he wants out of life. I am so happy that he has been looking at
eating healthy foods and trying to lose weight. How many times I tried
to get him on a healthy trail and now he has realised it in his own time.
Hallelujah! I even mentioned Spark to him and he was open to it. I will
forward the link to him and I hope he can follow through.

My time in Florida was an opportunity to live and learn the healthy way.
My wonderful friends exercised every day and showed me many ways to
eat that I never thought possible. They had a wonderful garden and every
day we had fresh vegetables like kale, collard greens and chard to name a
few. Lettuce and green onion and peppers, tomatoes and chilis as well as
fresh herbs. We had salads every day and food was grilled or baked. I learned
new exercises on the mini trampoline and with the resistance bands.

I showed my friend some of coach Nicole's exercises and she was impressed.
I have invited her to join Spark and I hope she enjoys it as much as I do. I was procrastinating for so long and now I know it is a state of mind and I can do
this. I know I can.

Just an update on my friend S double knee replacement surgery. She goes in
on Tuesday, so I would like you to have her in your prayers. Also for my aunt
who has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and my cousin who has a lump
in her cheek. My friend in Florida overcame cervical cancer and has been
living cancer free for 10 years thanks to eating fresh organic food and exercise.
That is reason enough for me to continue on my health journey.

Happy Valentine's Day, and don't overindulge in the chocolates. Think before
you pop that sweetness in your mouth. It is not worth it. emoticon emoticon

Hi, Anna, just got around to reading your blog, slack, I know, but I have been having more server problems, and have been on & off the air.
Well, it sounds like you are having a great time, and have made the decision to give the programme a good try out.
I am trying out the Leptin Reset Prescription, from Dr Jack Kruse, it only take 6 - 8 weeks, so for March/April I am low carb, no dairy, and no starch. I have also given up pork, coffee and all processed meats, ie ham/pressed chicken/bacon, and suchlike. I am already low fructose, have been now for 17 months.
I was just reading about arsenic in milk, chicken and rice. It's so scary, knowing that these things are hppening to our foods. Apparently they feed the poor chickens arsenic based drugs to kill off the pests/parasites that are all around the poor things, who just live out their days in their own faeces, thereby attracting all sorts of pests & disease, thus giving them more & more arsenic, we are ingesting it from the chicken meat, Apparently it gives the chicken meat a pink tinge, so look out. I guess we have to buy our chicken meat from chickens that run around free, and are organically fed. Not too sure, but I think this was in the US, may not be the same in OZ, these drugs are banned in Europe, though, so we may be ok!!
Such a pity, that it's then out of reach of the average pensioner!! Just trying to kill us off sooner.
Also glad I gave up anything from a pig. It appears their physiology is too close to a humans, so if they get parasites & the like, they can be transmitted to humans readily. The latest is people who live with these parasites in their brain. I was just reading all about it, boy, glad I gave up.
Also the eccess (spelling ok?!) maybe excess (!.)... hormones in cow's milk, I've always said that cow's milk is for baby cows, not for baby humans, did you know that it's meant to make a 60 pound calf into a 600 pound cow in less than a year? No wonder we are all so fat!! I did read that goat's milk is the most like human milk, and is less irritating to one's gut. If you are lactose intolerant, you may be able to ingest goat's milk. I'm seriously thinking of making my own almond milk.

Well, what a topic I got onto!! Sorry, I got all carried away.

Seems you're not missing much being away. The rain hasn't stopped up your way, and you missed out on all the drama of the Gillard V Rudd leadership spill!! I think KRudd will make another run for PM before the next election, if he doesn't, then we may be stuck with Tony Abbott, what a smarmy thing he is..... it's been so strange, Rudd has been topping the people's polls, & Julia has been topping the Politicians Polls!! Apparently the Ozzie people think he's the better one to defeat TA in an election. I like both of them, but it's all come out how JG actually went about toppling KRudd, when he was PM, & I think that made a lot of former JG's supporters change their mind about her.

Well, dear, I have gotten you right up to date with the latest news. When you get back, there is a lady I have met who lives on the GC, maybe I can fix you up with a new friend. I'll write you a personal message about that, though.

Did you think I had forgotten you? No I had not, just been so busy, changed servers, so had fun changing my email address with all the things I subscribe to.... That was fun, and very time consuming. also, it's quite hot in Sydney, been 30 -ish today, maybe you're used to it, but I'm not...... emoticon ......also very humid. Gonna be 30 plus tomorrow, and thunderstorms. Pray for a rain free Saturday for me, Anna, it's market week & I need the money, as we are very broke, I missed the last 2, due to rain.
emoticon

Going now, dearest, Sweet Dreams, I'm off to bed.....it's now 12.20am, Tuesday morning!! I will keep your peeps in my mind for healing & Love.

Love
Sylvia xxx

Sounds like a fun but healthy vacation! It's always great when we can have time with friends to catch up & see how they are doing for ourselves. Prayers for your friends' knee surgery & your aunt for her thyroid cancer.

I think you both have changed since your trip to the U.S. You are both incorporating some healthy things you have learned into your lifestyle. Your son will always need you and love you. I sent a prayer for the people you mentioned as well as you because I want you to have a healthy and happy life.

Glad you are home safe a ned that you had such a great trip. It sounds like florida was a great experience for you and also for your son since he was good when you saw him.
So now are you living all alone on your own? I am after losing my husband last May but am getting accustomed to it and even liking it. Keep up your great health progress.

Your son's move seems to be inspiration for him to grow... not to mention to give YOU a bit of free space in your life! Am happy to hear he's settling in so well, and seems to have started making positive, healthy lifestyle changes too!

Having ill friends and relatives is in itself enough to awaken or re-awaken our commitment to healthier ways: as your visit to your friend in FLorida shows, even after we have been on the path for a way there are always new ideas awaiting us! Will you be incorporating some of these things into your daily routine once back home?? :)

Alas, my friend, I too wish you could have detoured a bit (what's a thousand or two miles in a detour, right? lol) so that we could have met in person. Safe journeys!

emoticon You sound really happy and healthy! emoticon

Isn't it great when you visit people who are eating and living healthy, makes it so much easier , you don't have to say no all the time when unhealthy food is around. emoticon

I can understand where you are coming from in regard to your son. My young man turns 30 this year, and I really am impressed with what he has achieved in his life. The dynamics change but I still get really tight hugs! emoticon

Am keeping your friends in my thoughts. emoticon

Anna, it was so nice to read up on what you've been up to lately! I completely understand about leaving your dear son in San Francisco, as our daughter and son-in-law live in Chicago and we live in TX... might as well be a million miles as expensive as it is to travel now-a-days! But, they are doing well, and that is what matters most. Take care, my friend, and safe travels to you! emoticon
