Just a quick update...

Saturday, February 11, 2012

First, I changed my ticker. A lot of people make small goals at the beginning of their journey, but I usually do things the hard way = ) Staring at that giant number of "pounds needed to lose" seemed to motivate me more than 10 pound increments. Now, it seems the closer I get to seeing my goal, that sadder I get STILL seeing that big number. In order for me to no longer be "obese" and simply just "over weight" I would have to lose half of my starting weight. What a great goal to focus on! Losing half of my starting weight AND becoming "just overweight" at the same time, excellent!

Also, I've been on solids for an entire week now. After juicing for 7 days and losing 6.5 pounds, I was VERY nervous about gaining the weight back. I continued to juice for breakfast but ate regular food the rest of the day. I'm happy to report I lost 2 more pounds this week. My workouts were the same both weeks, the only thing that was different was the juicing. I would say it was definitely a positive experience.

Finally, I just wanted to say how awesome my sparkfriends are. This is a tough journey, and being surrounded by people that get it, has made it SO much easier. All the support and love had made a HUGE difference. Thank you all SO much = ) I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

I'm glad the juicing worked out for you. I admit, I was skeptical..but it sounds like you still got enough nutrition and didn't go insane, lol! I think I would!

    Keep up the hard work!

I changes my ticker 5 lbs, so I have 5 lbs LESS to lose...I will reflect and adjust when I hit my goal- do I want to lose those other 5 lbs? Or am I happy? Only time will tell!

I think resetting your ticker is a great idea and will keep that in mind. Maybe after my "no weighing in February"...I think the support we see on spark makes a huge difference as well. Congrats on your weight loss from the two weeks. Awesome!

I think I'm having a dense moment...excuse me for my confusion...are you overweight yet or still aiming to be overweight? I'm not sure if to be encouraging on or congratulating you!!! Sorry!!! I've still got 11 or 12 pounds until i'm overweight but I'm only 5 ft 2...maybe I'm shorter than you?

A massive congratulations on the 8 pounds you've lost in the last 2 weeks. That is astounding!! I've been "stuck" for about 2 weeks which I know is nothing but is a long time for me! I've probably got a period coming or something.

I'm so proud of you sticking to the juicing a whole week...I think I'm pretty disciplined but I KNOW I couldn't do it for a whole week.Don't thank us....we thank YOU for being a constant source of inspiration and support emoticon emoticon

I love what you had to say about the ticker. My weight loss has really slowed...but I am almost only "overweight" as well. Reading this and your spunk have encouraged me : )

Congrats on the loss! I think that is a true testament to the difference real nutrition makes. If you had been using say..slim-fast shakes...I believe the weight would have come back rapidly. Even though they provide the necessary nutrients...those nutrients do not come from clean, whole foods. I think your body is responding favorably to being given exactly what it needs from the best sources possible! Great job and thank you so much for sharing your experience...it is so uplifting and helpful!
