I've been having "healthy" breakfasts, trying to stay away from carbs. I've been feeling deprived and have ended up overloading on them. My glucose reading was a whopping 17 yesterday morning and 12 this morning. Both numbers are bad.
I tried something different today for breakfast. I decided I would start the day by satisfying my carb fix so I ate two small buns with cold cuts, a slice of cheese and lots of lettuce. Then I ate a donut, yes a donut. (I'm experimenting!) Anyway, it is now 3:00 p.m. and I have had NO cravings, and no hunger since breakfast. I did not open and close the pantry or the fridge several times as I usually do. I did not yearn for lunch time. The best part is that my glucose measures at 7 this afternoon. Seven is what my doctor wants me to aim for, 4 is normal.
Hmmm!?! Interesting. Stay tuned for what this evening brings.....
